Introduction
One of the largest groups of SBCC students by major
is undecided/undeclared. These students are at the greatest risk
for dropping out due to lack of focus and/or not recognizing the
relevance of coursework to anything important in their lives.
The staff in SBCC's Career Center can help students discover vocational
and academic courses of study that have meaning in establishing
future goals. In addition, we encourage students to learn how
courses of study can relate to occupational fields. Once they
have made this connection, the students' interest and motivation
in coursework often are enhanced, thus increasing their chances
for success in college.
