Assignment

Contact your department chair and ask to review the course of study outlines for the classes that you will be teaching. Make sure you check the date on the course of study outline so that you actually have a current copy If the date is prior to 1996, check with Joann Mayhew to see if a new version of your course has been submitted to and approved by the CAC.

Since we are required by law to follow these course outlines of record, it is important that you review the material closely to ensure that your course will include the specified content and that students are expected to complete the course objectives.

If you believe that this course of study outline is out of date or should include additional material, review the outline with your department chair and others who are teaching the same course. After this review, if there is consensus that the outline should be modified, then follow the processes listed above for initiating a course modification.

This process may be repeated with degree or certificate programs in your department. The process for changing a program requires more consultation, and these changes are made for catalogue revisions once per year.
