Student Portfolio
Tips And Pointers
In the first lesson, Portfolios: Tools for Teachers
and Students, you created a couple of projects on which to center/anchor
your instruction and student learning for one of your classes.
Then you were asked to consider the types of products that could
be generated as natural by-products of the project [a tangible
product? an essay? field journal? mock debate? multimedia presentation?].
Then you were asked to determine how the products will be used
to assess student performance:
- Will you use the products to evaluate a student's
strengths or weaknesses?
- Will you use them to assign a grade on a periodic
basis or use it to supplement your existing grading?
- Will you use is as a sole indicator of student
achievement for a semester or year?
